  • 4] Protect your skin from the sun. The skin’s DNA can get damaged by the ultraviolet rays of the sun. According to cancer specialists, there can also be genetic mutations leading to skin cancer. Whenever you go outdoors, apply sunscreen to your skin. You should also use a hat and sunglasses.

  • 5] You should be physically active.  It has been found that when compared with those who don’t exercise, those who exercise regularly have a lower risk of developing colon and breast cancers. The activities that raise your heart rate and make you sweat are beneficial for you. Some examples are brisk walking, biking and dancing.

  • 6] Maintain a normal weight according to your height. Your body mass index (BMI) should not rise above 25. There can be different cancers such as gall bladder cancer, thyroid cancer and colon cancer if there is a greater BMI.

  • 9] You should avoid exposure to substances that cause cancer. Cancer can cause from radiation exposure and some chemicals. Cancers of the lung, skin, thyroid, breast and stomach are linked with ionizing radiation from gamma rays, high-energy UV rays and x-rays.

  • 10] You should have a plant-based diet in order to reduce the risk of several cancers including colon cancer. The intake of red meat, processed meat, chips and sugary drinks and sweets should be restricted. There should be different non-starchy vegetables and fruits in your everyday diet.
